From the 1950s up until 1999, the AMC was known as the American High School Mathematics Examination, or AHSME. In 2000, the AHSME was renamed the AMC12, and a second (easier) exam, known as the AMC10, was created.
Note: Out of respect for the American Mathematics Competitions and the people who have written these tests, I have decided against posting any more past AMC exams. I strongly encourage you to buy these exams, either in pamphlet or book form (both are excellent) from the AMC by visiting http://www.unl.edu/amc/d-publication/publication.html. To my knowledge, the 1989 AHSME and the 2003/2004 AMC12As are the only exams not hosted anywhere else (1996-2000 are all on Harold Reiter's homepage). Furthermore, I have not posted solutions for the 1989 AHSME and 2003/2004 AMC12As; instead, I recommend that you buy these from the AMC.
